Position Overview:

Inversion is looking to hire a strategic, results-oriented Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to lead the execution of acquisitions and oversee the post-acquisition integration and growth of portfolio companies.

The CIO will be responsible for leading the execution of private equity transactions, and will serve as the senior point of contact for portfolio company executives post-acquisition. This individual will work closely with the CEO, COO, and Investment Committee to execute Inversion’s blockchain “rip-and-replace” strategy across portfolio companies, ensuring that each company’s transition to blockchain infrastructure is executed flawlessly to unlock maximum value.

This role is ideal for a seasoned investment professional with a deep understanding of the fintech and telecom sectors, proven transaction experience, passion for crypto, and a track record of driving strategic initiatives. The CIO will be supported by a small team of investment professionals, with the potential for further expansion as the portfolio grows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transaction Leadership: Lead the execution of acquisitions and private transactions from start to finish, including due diligence, negotiation, financing, and closing.

  • Portfolio Management: Serve as the senior point of contact for the executive teams of portfolio companies post-acquisition, providing strategic oversight and guidance to ensure successful execution of the blockchain “rip-and-replace” strategy.

  • Acquisition Pipeline Development: Work with CEO and COO to build and maintain a pipeline of acquisition targets, focusing on companies ripe for blockchain infrastructure transformation.

  • Acquisition Financing: Work with the CEO and COO to secure financing for acquisitions, including identifying and negotiating with financial partners to structure deals effectively.

  • Strategic Integration: Oversee the operational, technical, and business execution of blockchain integration in portfolio companies, ensuring a smooth transition and alignment with Inversion’s strategic objectives.

  • Team Leadership: Manage a small investment team, including 1-2 associates initially, providing leadership and direction in the execution of transactions and post-acquisition integration.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as a primary point of contact for investors, portfolio companies, and other stakeholders, ensuring transparent and effective communication regarding the performance and strategy of the portfolio.

  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about market trends, especially in the fintech and telecom sectors, to identify new acquisition opportunities and emerging industry dynamics.

Qualifications:

  • Transaction Experience: Over 8 years of transaction experience, particularly in private equity, M&A, or investment banking.

  • Sector Expertise: Strong background in fintech, telecom, or related technology sectors, with deep knowledge of industry dynamics, challenges, and opportunities.

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead complex transactions and manage relationships with C-suite executives and board members in portfolio companies.

  • Blockchain Passion: While not a requirement, a strong interest in blockchain technology and its potential applications in business transformation is preferred.

  • Self-Starter: Confident in leading acquisition processes independently, taking ownership of deal execution and portfolio management.

  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to think long-term and implement strategies that drive value both for equity holders and token stakeholders.

  • Relationship Building: Strong sell-side relationships and network for sourcing and financing acquisition opportunities.

  • Cultural Fit: High energy, entrepreneurial mindset, and a willingness to embrace the unique challenges and opportunities presented by a rapidly evolving blockchain investment model.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to work in a high-growth, fast-paced environment with a focus on strategic decision-making and value creation.

  • Experience in crypto or blockchain-related investments (not required but beneficial).

  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.

Compensation:

Inversion Capital offers a competitive compensation package, including base salary, discretionary bonus, carry, co-invest (“equity”), and token grants. The role provides significant potential for asymmetric upside, especially for individuals who are passionate about driving innovation in the blockchain and investment space.

Why Inversion Capital:

At Inversion Capital, you will play a key role in transforming industries through blockchain technology and private equity. This is an opportunity to work at the cutting edge of finance and technology, where your contributions will directly impact both the operational and financial success of portfolio companies. If you are a strategic, execution-driven leader who thrives in high-growth environments and is excited about the potential for blockchain to reshape traditional business models, we encourage you to apply.
