While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported.

This is a 12-week internship during summer 2026.

Coinbase is looking for a highly motivated Business Controller Intern to work with our Business Controller (BC) team and play a meaningful role in our continued growth and achievement of operational excellence during the internship. The BC Intern must possess some accounting knowledge, an ability to communicate clearly and work with various teams inside of Finance (such as Tax, Finance Analytics, Platform Accounting, etc.) and with XFN stakeholders (Product, Compliance, Legal, etc), and a desire to learn, work outside of their comfort zone and work through ambiguity in a dynamic, high-growth technology company.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager – Business Controller, the Intern will have a chance to assist with the company’s product launch review process. This position will have the opportunity to collaborate with various teams across the organization. This role requires someone with high-positive energy, impeccable attention to detail, a financial and analytic mindset, and a strong desire to get hands-on accounting experience at a rapidly growing organization.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Assist with the Company’s product launch review process including review of product requirements document, scoping for finance stakeholder impact and validation of test transactions.
  • Assist with preparation of product launch briefs, runbooks, scoping checklists and user acceptance testing.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders including Controllership, Tax, Risk, FP&A, Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal to ensure proper finance impact of product launches have been identified and addressed.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date process documentation and procedures for all tasks.
  • Support ad hoc financial information requests and analyses and other special projects as assigned.

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • Currently pursuing a BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field
  • Possess excellent analytical skills, business partnering, problem solving and prioritization skills
  • Basic knowledge of US GAAP, SQL and experience working with Databricks, Snowflake, Looker or similar analytics tools
  • Basic knowledge and experience using AI tools such as LibreChat, Claude, etc. and building automated workflows and agents.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Basic knowledge Coinbase, digital assets and the crypto economy, or a desire to learn

Hourly Rate:
$40$40 USD
