Reporting directly to our CTO, the Backend Services Architect plays a pivotal role in shaping the heart of TradingView’s technology. You’ll be responsible for driving the efficiency, scalability, and security of our high-load, distributed systems—powering everything from core product features to critical infrastructure services and databases across the company.
Architecture Design: Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend architectures that align with our business needs.
Technology Selection: Evaluate and recommend the most suitable backend technologies, frameworks, and tools.
Specification Review: Analyze, refine, and approve specifications and technical requirements for service development across teams.
System Integration: Collaborate with teams to ensure seamless integration between backend systems, frontend components, databases, third-party services, and APIs.
Scalability, Performance & Reliability: Design systems that can handle high traffic loads while ensuring optimal performance and scalability. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through profiling, tuning, and optimization. Guarantee high availability where required.
Code Quality & Standards: Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and guidelines to maintain high code quality and readability.
Documentation: Ensure comprehensive technical documentation of internal systems, including architectural diagrams, API specifications, data storage descriptions, and deployment procedures.
Problem Solving: Analyze complex technical challenges and propose effective solutions to resolve them in a timely manner.
10+ years of experience in backend development (our stack includes Go, Java, and Python), with at least 3 years in an architect role focused on distributed, high-load systems.
Strong background in object-oriented design, multithreading, SQL/NoSQL databases, and distributed systems.
Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or similar platforms.
Solid knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Kubernetes and Docker.
Strong engineering mindset — thoughtful judgment, analytical thinking, the ability to reason abstractly, a healthy level of bias backed by experience, openness to alternative opinions, and a collaborative attitude.
Proficiency in writing clear and structured technical documentation.
