As Associate Legal Counsel at Zinc you’ll be joining the Legal and Compliance department at an exciting time of growth. Already a team of five, we’ll be closer to ten by the end of the year and you’ll be a core part of that growth.
You’ll be managed by and work directly with our Head of Legal on high impact tasks. You’ll own the delivery of pivotal commercial contact negotiations, key tactical legal projects, developing and maximising our legal tech stack and you’ll assist on strategic level work directly with our Head of Legal. You’ll work closely with the Product teams ensuring that everything we ship is GDPR compliant and you’ll work directly with the Revenue and Customer teams, enabling us to smash our company targets. You’ll also have a small pod of Legal and Compliance Executives to manage directly.

Key Responsibilities 🗝️

  • Managing a small pod of Legal and Compliance Executive, previous management experience is not required!
  • Owning the delivery of pivotal, high value commercial contracts, contributing directly to our Revenue goals.
  • Working with our Product team to ensure everything we build is GDPR compliant.
  • Upskilling and enabling our Customer and Revenue teams on the legal and regulatory landscape that we operate in.
  • Working directly with our Head of Legal on high value, strategic level projects.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise 🚀

  • You’re probably an NQ or 1 Year PQE but we’re more than welcome to candidates with more experience than this.
  • Empathetic leader, we don’t expect someone to have management experience stepping into this role and we’re willing to coach and teach you about this. What we look for in return is someone who is a natural, empathetic leader. Maybe you’ve been part of your firm’s buddy system or took on leadership roles during your time at university, great!
  • Impeccable attention to detail, you’ll be the standard bearer for work in the legal team, your fingerprints will be across a huge amount of the work we ship. We move incredibly fast and must always be precise.
  • A natural communicator, you’ll work with senior stakeholders and manage a small team, you’ll need to act as a vessel for messages up and down the business.
