About the opportunity
Join Figment as a Associate DevOps Engineer and help build and support the infrastructure that powers blockchain validators across a wide range of protocols. You’ll work alongside a seasoned team of engineers to deploy, automate, and monitor the systems that keep our production environment healthy and secure.
This role is ideal for someone early in their DevOps career who wants to learn from experienced peers, develop hands-on experience with real-world infrastructure, and grow into managing production systems at scale. You’ll gain exposure to tools like Ansible, Terraform, Helm, and the systems that power the decentralization.

How you will make an impact
- Supporting infrastructure used to run high-performance blockchain validator nodes in production
- Implementing infrastructure automation using Ansible
- Helping maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and container-based deployments
- Collaborating with senior engineers on system upgrades, deployments, and issue resolution
- Participating in the on-call rotation for monitoring, alerting, and incident response for production blockchain deployments
- Expanding your knowledge of Linux, cloud infrastructure, networking, and blockchain fundamentals
- Collaborating with protocol teams to deploy and launch new blockchain protocols
Who you are
- 1 -2 years of experience administering Linux-based servers, including package management, systemd, SSH, networking tools, and basic performance tuning
- 1-2 years of experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible to manage cloud or on-prem environments
- Ability to write and troubleshoot automation scripts in Bash, Python, or Go to support DevOps workflows
- Understanding of networking fundamentals such as DNS, subnets, firewalls, VPNs, ports, and routing
- Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker) and exposure to Kubernetes or similar orchestration systems
- Experience using observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog (or equivalent) to set up dashboards, alerts, and investigate incidents
- Comfort working with Git and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with cloud services such as AWS or GCP
- Familiarity with GitOps and continuous integration tools
- Experience running home labs, personal servers, or participating in open source
- Experience in blockchain activities such as running nodes, staking, and/or participating in governance

Compensation
One of Figment’s core principles is “Making the Invisible Visible” – ensuring transparency and information sharing in all communication. Figment is committed to transparency regarding pay, benefits, and other compensation types for all internal roles as well as all roles being hired for.
Base Salary: The CAD base salary range for this position is CAD $80,000 – $105,000. This range reflects base salary only, and does not include additional compensation or benefits. For candidates in other countries, the pay range will be disclosed upon your first interview with Figment (being a globally remote company, the list of salary ranges would simply be too long to note here!). The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum range for a new hire across all Canada or the US. A candidate’s specific pay within the range will be determined by various factors including job-related skills, relevant education, and training.

- During your first Recruiter Call, you will be provided with more information about Figment, the position and what to expect for the rest of the interview process. Please be prepared to discuss why you are interested in joining Figment and what excites you about the position and company.
- As we go through the process, we work to make sure that you hear back from us in a timely fashion. If we decide at any point that we’re unfortunately not moving forward, we will give you feedback on why it was not a fit.
- We aim for the entire process to take around 2-4 weeks from initial screen to offer. There can be exceptions on either side of the bell curve here, but as a rule, that’s the time-frame you can expect.
