About this role in the team:

Location: Poland / Serbia / Bulgaria / Cape Town

At BVNK, we are pioneering the integration of AI across our operations, and we’re looking for an AI Automation Engineer – Compliance & Risk to help us lead the charge. In this role, you will focus on embedding AI solutions to automate and enhance compliance monitoring, regulatory tracking, and compliance-related workflows within the business.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and implement AI-driven solutions that support compliance automation. Your work will streamline the processes of monitoring compliance requirements, flagging non-compliance issues, and enabling real-time reporting, all while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory adherence. This role will have a direct impact on BVNK’s ability to scale its operations in a compliant and efficient manner.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  • AI Integration for Compliance Automation: Collaborate with compliance, legal, and product teams to identify areas for AI-based automation and optimization, such as compliance tracking, regulatory reporting, assurance and risk management.
  • Workflow Automation: Develop AI-driven systems to automate routine compliance tasks, such as quality assurance, monitoring regulatory changes, flagging compliance deviations, and generating compliance reports, improving both accuracy and efficiency.
  • Data Analysis & Compliance Optimization: Leverage machine learning and AI to analyze regulatory data and compliance reports, identify patterns or potential risks, and suggest proactive compliance strategies.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with legal, compliance, engineering, and product teams to ensure AI solutions align with regulatory standards and meet business and operational needs.
  • AI Model Development & Refinement: Build, test, and enhance machine learning models for risk detection, compliance analysis, and regulatory reporting.

Continuous Improvement: Ensure AI-powered solutions remain up-to-date with changing regulations and compliance standards, refining them based on performance feedback and evolving needs.

What we need from you:

  • Proven experience in AI/ML development, ideally in a compliance or regulatory technology (RegTech) context.
  • Strong expertise in AI, machine learning, and automation tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of compliance workflows, regulatory reporting, risk assessment, and automation in the financial or fintech sector.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or similar, and familiarity with automation frameworks.
  • Experience with large datasets, natural language processing (NLP), and text mining techniques to analyze compliance documents and regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively across functional teams (compliance, legal, product, engineering) to deliver AI solutions that meet regulatory and business needs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with an ability to design scalable and practical AI solutions to enhance compliance processes.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including compliance professionals.
  • A passion for utilizing AI to improve compliance, regulatory adherence, and operational efficiency.
